Ontem li um artigo muito interessante no The Times que falava de livros que os americanos pedem para ser banidos de escolas (programas escolares), bibliotecas, livrarias, etc.
Chamar-lhe interessante não será propriamente exacto. Talvez… hilariante? Com um bocadinho mais de investigação encontrei um site com uma lista de vários livros banidos ou contestados ao longo do tempo e pelo mundo inteiro.
Eis alguns exemplos mencionados no artigo e/ou no site bastante… elucidativos.

Não, não foram os nazis que pediram a abolição deste livro por acharem que os retratava como seres cruéis e de ideologia racista. Não senhor. Foram novamente americanos. No Alabama acharam que o livro era e cito “ a real downer”.
Eu estou com eles… desde quando é que é preciso nos esfregarem a realidade da vida na cara hã?! Já agora queria aqui pedir que alguém censurasse a realidade de todo por ser demasiado… triste!
Houve um tempo obscuro em que no Tenesse andar por aí a dizer que as pessoas vinham dos macacos era proibido. Hoje em dia é mais do que óbvio, até porque todos os dias vemos exemplos de pessoas que são certamente o elo perdido entre o homem e o macaco. Sabem usar ferramentas mas inteligência... ainda não.
